Career Training
In addition to academic education, Northlands Job Corps provides career technical training in the following vocational trades.
Job Corps is committed to the development of green job training. All students who enter in Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive, or Construction career technical training areas will train in a variety of green subject areas. These career areas are marked below with a green tree icon

- Facilities Maintenance

- Urban Forestry
- Welding
All of the trades come with industry recognized certifications.
Advanced Career Training
The Advanced Career Training (ACT) program gives students the opportunity to receive advanced education/career technical training.
Within the Job Corps program, qualifying students may chose between career ladders and career lattices, which represent additional or advanced training opportunities at other Job Corps centers. Students who enroll in ACT program still enjoy all the benefits and services provided by Job Corps, and have up to one additional year to complete their training.
Students who have shown outstanding achievements in their academic and career technical training may be recommended for the ACT program by their instructors, counselor, and may request consideration from the ACT Coordinator. To qualify for the ACT program, a student must:
- Be enrolled 180 days in Job Corps with good attendance
- Have completed a career technical training program
- Have a GED or high school diploma
- Meet testing requirements
- Have a high level of maturity and show the ability to work independently and reliably
- Have a good disciplinary record
